Christmas - A Season of Rejoicing & Reflection
Rejoicing
We're preparing for Christmas at our house, and this one is
extra special because my Mother is with us.
extra special because my Mother is with us.
Through the years, her incredible example has been
the guiding light for our family.
Strength and Honor are her clothing ... Proverbs 31:25

Reflection
Her relationship with God is
personal
genuine
and
true
Of her, it will be said -
"well done, good and faithful servant ...
come and share your master's happiness!"
Matthew 25:21
She not only knows about Him, she knows Him personally,
and the sobering words from Matthew 7:23
will never cross her ears.
...
Matthew 7:21-23 (TLB)
“Not all who sound religious are really godly people....
At the Judgment, many will tell me, ‘Lord, Lord, we told others about you
and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles.’
But I will reply, ‘You have never been mine. Go away, for your deeds are evil.’
As we prepare our hearts to celebrate Christmas
will you join us in not only Knowing about Him,
but Knowing Him in a real and personal way;
just like my Mother.
TRUE JOY!
Geneva, I'm so glad that you will be spending Christmas with your mother. Give her an extra special hug, as I miss my mom dearly. I love the strength and honor verse, one of my favorites. The deer picture is delightful. There is something very special about this animal.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the Christmas season, friend!

Your mother sunds like a true Christian. Nothing bothers me more that a fake Christian. Just because you talk the talk doesn't mean you walk the walk. I hope you enjoy every second with your sweet mother. I'm sure she is going to enjoy being with you! What a blessing.

I wish I still had my mom - she sounds exactly like your mom. Godly moms have been such a blessing in our society. Of all things, my husband and I are 20 miles from the San Berardino shooting (we are on holidays.). The mom who shot others and left her little child with her mom is really an example of a tragic mom. May we learn from our moms what it means to serve and live a life pleasing to the Lord.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment, Marietta. I had no idea you were so close to San Bernardino. Our hearts are so broken for all the families there. You're such a blessing...I always love hearing from you. xo
DeleteStill here in California - today we worshipped in John McArthur's church. Well worth being in Calfornia to hear that wonderful, solid preaching.
DeleteTo be known...what a perfect post Geneva. You are a blessing and I know your mom is too. I hope your holiday is filled with many wonderful things!
