I Found The Sweetest Little Cards ...
I was looking for some of my old valentines today and found these sweet note cards. I'm guessing they're from the 40's or 50's, but can't be sure... At any rate they're from a time when people actually sent handwritten notes instead of using the electronic media we use today.
Who wouldn't want to get one of these
sweet cards in the mail.
Their actual size is about 4" x 4" and the
envelopes are almost as charming as the cards.

Lovely blog, lovely music! Compliments!
ReplyDeleteThese are darling...they are so fragile looking! I love how the children always seem to have rosy cheeks!

Very charming. I wonder if the "school" Valentines you see available now at Target and Walmart and such will seem as charming in 50 years as these do now. Somehow I just don't think so, but you never know, I guess.
ReplyDeleteYour vintage cards are just adorable. I agree with you -- even though we live in an electronic age, I love old paper.

I can never pass up sweet cards etc. and they are always so affordable!
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet! I just found some old Valentines an old neighbor gave me. They are so much cuter than the cards made today.
ReplyDeleteahh these are so charming...you lucky lady for finding these charmers. I can remember the days that I sent a Valentine's card to each and every classmate and then come home and look at them over and over again.
ReplyDeleteI love your little Vintage cards, Geneva. Happy Valentine's Day to you, sweet friend.

Your vintage Valentines are adorable! The valentines they make for children today don't have the charm of the old ones.
ReplyDeleteLe cartoline antiche sono piene di fascino...io ne conservo alcune di mia nonna dipinte a mano!!!!Il tuo post mi e' piaciuto tantissimo...Cri.
ReplyDeleteEphemera is my weakness, too. Probably not as expensive a habit as collecting shoes and purses, but not as practical, either.
ReplyDeleteWhen we go to the antique mall, I look at lots of things, but I purchase books, magazines, old letters, flash cards, etc.
These are great cards - so lovely and gentle looking.
