Retirement Bliss

Today was one of those days I used to dream about when I was working 8 to 5.  I'd be thinking ... "I wish I were at home, puttering around the house, baking cookies and listening to Christmas music".  Well... I got to do all of the above today,
and it was
Deliciously Fun!

Played with flowers from Costco

wish I could inject the smell

I Love being retired
I tried a couple of new cookie recipes ...
This was the Best One!
Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

YUMMY!
Also made a pecan pie (by special request)
Oh...and some cornbread...for the stuffing I'll be making Thursday.
The piddling part of my day ..
Well, I painted trim moulding in our guest bathroom...One of those jobs I'd been putting off.  Does anyone else wait until company is coming to do little chores like that?  When I think about it...I should plan to have guests at least once a month...
Maybe my to-do list would become a ta-done list!
 Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. I agree about retirement - it is wonderful! But I have to admit my time management was better when I was working. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I love all your fall accents. xo

  2. Enjoy Retirement!
I remember thinking...I can't wait until the kids are grown and I can re decorate the spare rooms the way I want for guest, crafts, den...etc.
Now they are grown and I have grands most days... and I STILL don't get much accomplished. I never worked outside our home; but my husband is retired.
We're still muddling through trying to find out what were supposed to be doing now!

    loved your photos... sweet post!

  4. Those are the kind of days I LOVE! Just this week I made the decision to go from a 5 day work schedule to 3 days per week. I'm a little nervous, but I know in my heart that it's the right choice for me. It won't start until after the holidays, but that's soon enough for me. Happy Thanksgiving....and retirement! vickie

  5. That's great you are able to enjoy your retirement. I am planning the same things! Just little things to pittle with. I teach, so I have some opportunities now like that, and I cherish each time. Like today!

  6. Sounds like a busy but still fun filled day, apart from the paint job.
I always think the same, nothing would get done around here if it wasn't for the visitors!
