Baking A Gift
Fresh Baked Bread
I'm not a baker by any means, but I have managed
to do pretty well with a recipe I found in
It took a few tries, but I finally did well enough
to share with my neighbors and friends.
~
(The article is lengthy, but worth the effort)
The Master Recipe: Boule (Artisan Free-Form Loaf)
3 cups lukewarm water
1 1/2 tbsp granulated yeast (1 1/2 packets)
1 1/2 tbsp coarse kosher or sea salt
6 1/2 cups unsifted, unbleached, all-purpose white flour
(Cornmeal for the pizza peel) Makes 4 one pound loaves
Their website gives detailed instructions
along with several variations to this basic recipe.
Hope you'll try it out!
